After many years of public display of it, and sometimes even bragging about doing it, systematically, Greece has now been found guilty of systematic practice of "pushbacks" (which is indisputably illegal) of asylum seekers, by the European Court of Human Rights (of the Council of Europe, CoE, which is NOT the European Union, EU) which rules on matter related to the European Convention on Human Rights (which is what they refer to when they write just "the Convention"):

It is absolutely not my fault that you cannot conceive of a politics that doesn't revolve entirely around casting a ballot once every four years but I have no interest in walking you through this anymore. We are going to end capitalism, or billions of people are going to die. To do that, we're going to have to stomp fascism because fascism is a tool for rich ppl to keep doing capitalism on a boiling planet even if ppl don't WANT to die for them.

This is absolutely wild to me. It's not like I'm even vegan or anything, but insects have basic emotional states (fear, calm, frustration) and work to avoid pain and live. There are some deep differences in the ways they process pain, I think.

Many insects can learn.

This has probably been around for a while, but I just saw it at Publix toda and got some, Bob's Red Mill egg replacer that cost $4.60 and is the equivalent of 34 eggs. It's made from potato starch, tapioca flour, baking soda, and psyllium husks. This is for baking and I'm going to try it soon. Way cheaper than eggs!
