I my , which means that I can have any email addresses I want. I have a domain I use where whatever@domain will land in my inbox. I use distinct emails for all kinds of web sites. amazon@domain and ebay@domain and so on.

Today I got a message from some small company that helps people rent apartments. They write 'Your email address flagged up in our system, can you supply another email address please?'. I wrote back using my made-up email address as a From address. No. I don't have another email address to give you.

They tried again. "Your email address flagged up in our system." It's hilarious because that's just technobabble. "Flagged up" means nothing at all. There's nothing wrong with my email address. I know WAY more about email than they do. So I wrote back "this email address obviously works because we're having a back and forth conversation using it. Please make no changes."

They gave up and used the email I gave them.

Here's the feature in Apple Mail that lets you select your From address. And I have special cased my ID in Postfix so that if I login with MY ID, I can send emails from an address other than my logged in address

4/4 What can be done to not overload hospitals?
1. Get the flu shot every single fall (usually the new one is out in September/October). This dramatically drops your risk of ending up hospitalized even if you get the flu.
2. Avoid public gatherings when ill. No sense in spreading disease.
3. Wear a mask. Yep, they sure do keep you safe from flu.
4. If you have to go to the ER during flu season, mask up while you’re there, and use the hand sanitizer so you don’t get sick from someone else.

Finally, influenza is one of many viral illnesses that increases risk of stroke and heart attack. For people with lung disease like asthma or COPD, the inflammation from flu can cause lethal trapping of carbon dioxide as well as low oxygen levels. For folks who require dialysis, being too sick to go for a few days can cause fatal potassium levels. Patients with severe heart failure at baseline can’t keep up with the demand on their heart from running a fever and having bronchitis, and build up fluid in their lungs.

So you see, even a pretty mild strain of flu can quickly fill hospitals

@generika I ebike, a white 2019 generation RadCity 3 Step-Thru. I mostly use the power to help get up hills when loaded with groceries. I have never met anyone who looks like me riding, and people often think the bike is stolen, ask me weird questions and take pictures of the registration. I fantasize about what it would be like to not be a suspect.
