@j @RestlessLipSyndrome I have a 1000W "solar generator" (really just a big battery, LOL) which I was using to cool off the fridge every 12 hours or so... apparently that is not enough to keep leftover meat from going bad. (fine for the freezer and non-meat items... but hooooo booooy on that meat).

@ai6yr @j Ah! Good to know. We may have to purchase something like that for our cottage. I think the stuff in the fridge is likely not salvageable with us not having power for at least 6 hours or more.
@RestlessLipSyndrome @j In Hawaii's temps? Oh yeah, that is going on too long. Hope the freezer holds up, I use the ice cream as a measure of safety. (ice cream didn't melt at all? GOOD! Melted: OH CRAP) - some people put a marble at the top of a frozen bottle of water, if the marble dropped to the bottom then you know your freezer was bad at some point.
