In response to this post@stux How about a short questionnaire that helps people get where people they associate with would be. Then give suggested instances.
I'm on this instance because I've been part of the InfoSec game since the end of the 80's. But I'm also into common lisp coding and some other subjects. And I know relatively where those people can be found.
Newcomers might find it harder to find their niche, and find it harder to find their way. I know at least one person here from X who has not been successful finding their niche. They joined a non-specific instance and can't see how I could possibly find this social or enjoyable.

@Gargron The irony is scorching. Anywhere a Republican sets up shop becomes an echo chamber.
This I guess, is part and parcel to when Musk decided that Freedom of Speech (which he clearly doesn't understand) is akin to Freedom of Being Heard.
