Retrofitted another photography light (this time, from an A/C adapter to use USB charging instead). Non-ideal, as it is a Lithium battery powered light; prefer to just power it direct from USB... may have to go hack into the back of it if I still have light/soldering capability. #electronics #blackout #project #diy

@ai6yr @mjausson oh yes those video lights are nice! Just watch out on that model, there's a thermal issue that will destroy the light if left on a long time on 100%. It can be fixed - just open it up and put some therm-o-goop between the metal core PCB and the perfectly good heatsink that's just... not connected to it.

Partially completed adapter which turns my Stihl batteries into a 13.8V power supply. For ham radio, or maybe nowadays an emergency/disaster. @W6KME has one he built and I thought it was a great idea. #electronics #project
@ai6yr 1/2 Nice! I realized one day that I didn't need fancy new ham-specific LiFePo batteries; I have a garage full of power tool batteries. DC/DC converter to step down to 13.8 volts and Bob's yer uncle. The 8AH 20v battery here is about 13AH at 12v, and will run my 100w HF rig for an entire day of portable ops with no issues.

The human sides itself are being omitted and therefore the human details and care taken out / left out. Much like Capitalism's practices a cold system doesn't care and wants for only money and work based "work" and uses Technology (Robotic short text communication) to achieve raw work while undoubtedly humans are involved and need care or just respect. ❌ Stakes are often too high outside or offline in-person - this risks your safety (your job / livelihood and risks relationships tied to many things non-detachable unlike online presence) ✔️ / ❌ ? Offline spaces don't exist anymore as funding has been cut and we also need to solve that. This means some risk in trying (as with offline) and developing feelings rather than falling into the trap of argument is going to save us all a lot in the future if we would like to try learn it and hear others doing well. Doing with others helps improve us all especially since there is almost nothing like this which you don't have to pay for. This is a free service for the betterment of yourself and others from past works sourced from people like David Baum and T-group style conversations (have a definite template and Round Robin style meetup online) The idea here is you can practice more safely where you can't at work and even at home because the understanding and focus
