In response to this post@ai6yr Those things came became popular in 2015. I first noticed them at mile 50 of a race at 1am in the middle of Wyoming when I was already loopy. People had hung them on their cars near the aid station and it looked like a whole forest of jellyfish greeting me in the night. What a weird experience.

@c_dan4th @ai6yr They work well; even after the plastic cracks along the corners and the lantern can no longer be inflated.
It just looks less like a jellyfish.

Almost free through SCE rebates if you live in high fire risk areas. @ai6yr i have the 500 version, amazed at how well it keeps its charge. i got the solar panel but thats 80 i think so slow charging- ok for usb stuff

@ai6yr I used a similar one of these to run a TV for a while (could still pull in KCBS, KNBC, KCAL, and KTTV even without my preamp). It reported it would get 2.5 hours of run time through the AC (though I didn’t run it that long to confirm). I’ll have to see if I can find a way to power directly over DC next time, but it’s a Sony with a non-barrel jack conector (and my other TV doesn’t have an external power brick).
