I keep reading about how Mastodon is dying, or at least on the decline. But while it's had some growing pains, and has some inherent (though fixable) flaws that discourage many new users and drive some away, the COMMUNITY here just feels to me like it grows stronger every day!
I don't know if it's real, or if it's just my own experience, but things are feeling vibrant, alive, and interactive in a way that was pretty rare my first year or so here. So thank you all! #mastodon #fediverse

Interesting. Is there a particular reason why that you know? (though I notice that several homes with solar panels lower left appear to have been destroyed, so maybe it's coincidence?)
@jstevenyork There's no relation at all, there's just disinformation floating around about "only homes with solar panels burning" (which is absolutely false -- in a lot of neighborhoods, EVERYTHING BURNED) 🙄 (this is the counterpoint)

My heart goes out. We walked away from our Oregon home a few years ago on no notice, not knowing if anything we owned would survive. The fire was stopped a few miles short of our home and we were able to return a few days later, but several neighborhoods in our small town, and in surrounding areas, weren't so lucky. I know people rendered homeless, and we (the town) are still recovering. It doesn't end with the headlines.

The chances of this happening under Trump and a GOP congress may actually somehow be LESS than zero. At least a couple of said drugs are likely to be ones that are keeping me stay alive these days. (Heart and diabetes)
