I saw fire fighting helicopters flying at night in LA. I know they fly with night vision goggles but you canā€™t see power cables from tower to tower. I hope they donā€™t hit any with their rotor blades.

My unit (33rd Rescue Squadron) lost an HH-60G helicopter and its crew when they hit power cables at night in South Korea just south of Osan Air Base in 1994. There were no survivors. šŸ˜¢

Beekeeper help is rolling out to the fires. Patrick Hardy of the non-profit Bee Platoon, received a call to help. Hardy is a Master Beekeeper with the -based California Master Beekeeper Program (CAMBP).

"There are 107 Beekeepers in the Palisades area that have been evacuated," and Patrick Hardy will coordinate assistance for beekeepers. Patrick, a disaster specialist, is launching a Bee Platoon and coordinating with fellow CAMBP members to keep apiaries safe from the fires where possible.

This is the first time a honey bee disaster response team is going to assist during a federally declared disaster."

Iā€™m watching the on The Golf Channel being played at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club. I played that course on 3 July, 2007. It was a very nicely maintained course. We drank big bottles of Heineken while playing. It was 96 degrees at 0728 when we started playing. It was 125 when we finished playing at 1130. Itā€™s very humid in Abu Dhabi. It was a challenge to hold onto the club. It was the hottest round of golf I ever played. The clubhouse looks like a huge Falcon with outstretched wings.
