I tend to share photos of my pet rats & attempts at vegetable gardening, descriptions of short cycling trips and other outdoor adventures, the occasional rant, story or creative endeavor.
I wish I had more time for the creative stuff.

I was talking to a guy I met in a park, asked what I do, said I code web applications, he asked if I use AI much - turned out he makes his money investing and is heavily into AI, he was SHOCKED when I said I'm not that into it, it just tends to get in my way lol

Ego Placebo π³οΈβππ¦πΊ BoostedLess than five years ago I did a unit on fire. The class was taught that Califorina and Southern Australia share firefighting resources. And that in the past that worked great because we're in opposite hemispheres and therefore have opposite fire seasons.
We were told that in the future this world not work because firefighting seasons would overlap too much. In the future.

Speck is on palliative care after the discovery of masses on each side of her abdomen which could be infection - but if so taking a biopsy would spread it into her cavity, or could be tumours.
Either way there's not much that can be done, she's had 2 surgeries previously and was unkind to her stitches.
So she's on "just in case" antibiotics, anti-inflammatory meds and another painkiller that is apparently reserved for palliative care. The worst parts of every day (twice) is giving her her medicine because she will not take it willingly and I feel cruel. But they do seem to be making her more comfortable.

Ego Placebo π³οΈβππ¦πΊ BoostedI was pretty sure this was going to end in tears, but holy crap -- the prototype works amazingly well.
Behold: The Synthcaster, a purely digital guitar without traditional pickups. It has a built-in Boss GK-5, controlling a Boss GM-800 synth over a (proprietary) serial connection.
The build is based on an old 89 Squire II Strat, my teenage axe and one of *the* shittiest guitars Fender ever made. Mine was in bad shape, this was a chance for a new life! I recorded a short show and tell.

Usually, when I start up a project after not touching it for 2 weeks, chances are something that was working before inexplicably breaks. Today was the first time something that was NOT working is actually partially working. I'm hoping this is a good sign for my future progress on this project... Now to figure out why it's working... π€
