i actually started carrying around a fork, knife & spoon in my messenger bag, which i usualy have with me most places i go.

i have a few buddies who do this too!
one of my friends bought herself a little bamboo set with a carrying case, while mine are just from restaurants i used to work at, with a bag i sewed from scraps.
either way a person wants to do it, i hope more folks adopt this habit.
*i'm also lucky to live in a city where you can say 'no utensils' and they listen
