#weltschmerz is the word to use, because The New Depression doesn't cover it.

@kimlockhartga As a German, I have always seen Weltschmerz as something like Kopfschmerz (headache), therefore it should be translated as worldache. It's not just your head that's hurting, it's the whole world.
