My dad gave me an old acer aspire... something or other. I'm constantly bumping the trackpad while trying to type. Maybe this is a... perhaps misguided? attempt to fix that?
I never had that problem on any other trackpad laptops.

That's pretty similar to how I have my desk set up. Although I'm on a desktop PC, but with a Wacom digitizer behind the keyboard.
Though I have a bit of room between the digitizer and keyboard, my hand is not resting on the keys.
