@John_Loader California National Guard has MAFFS (firefighting capability) on C-130's. Also they have been called into duty to rescue people trapped by a wildfire... quite a dramatic rescue a couple of years ago in the Sierras--ran through fire and smoke to pick up hundreds of campers trapped by a fire.
