@ai6yr Might be my german butt speaking, but this feels so phenomenally outlandish (literally). The danger of the built-in battery catching fire is higher than losing power often enough here to justify something like thisโ€ฆ and even if there was a possibility, it seems that a ~3kw house backup battery would make more sense?
Or a box filled with stuff like USB-rechargeable (Powerbank-)LEDs that could also be used for other things, like party deco or as garden lights during late night summer BBQs.

@Natanox LOL you clearly do not live in Southern California in wildfire country, where the power goes out quite often now because the power companies shut off power to avoid liability/starting fires.


@ai6yr I guessโ€ฆ it's just sad to see a country that's supposedly rich not even getting their grids right.

@ai6yr @Natanox Germany never loses power compared to North America. I think the main reason is that all power lines are underground whereas here they are mostly above ground. Especially rural.
