In response to this post@stux I think there's at least another year that whenever a company claims that they need to milk their players for all the money they have because "games are so expensive to make",
I can just reply "But Baldur's Gate 3"
It's sad how astounding it is these days to find a video game company that just makes games and sells them

@stux as well as shareware, this was common in the early days of mobile gaming. Free base game with one or two levels, pay to get more. You know what you're buying, and you get to keep it, so it feels fair and the user can be happy with their purchase instead of feeling a compulsion

@stux the idea of federating with a mass market platform seemed good, but threads never bothered to let their users see fedi posts (unless maybe they triple-opt-in) so it's pointless.
And now he's announcing that he views European laws with contempt and thinks the US should force us to change them?
