My sister who was finally able to evacuate from Palisades this afternoon was staying with friends in Sta. Monica who just got mandatory evac warning, policeman came to the door & everything. Going to try the flats of SF Valley next...
Just talked to my sister who just evacuated from Palisades Highlands. didn't ask what route they took but were in Sta. Monica near San Vicente & 18th St., took them about an hour. Pali Dr. had burn areas on both sides of rd., lots of cars bulldozed to the side, some palm trees still burning, 3 firetrucks racing up Pali Dr. They tried evac around noon, traffic jam, fire on both sides of Pali Dr., went home where conditions were nice, but who knows what's coming overnight.

Geoff, your friend may know about this but LAUSD has mental health support for students & families, and for employees.
Also meal distribution on Jan 9 from 8-11a.m. at 8 sites (2 per region)
