🧑🤝🧑 Local: Which has posts from people on your instance.
🌎 Federated: Which has posts from across the fediverse (other instances). They are mostly follows of all of the people on your instance but there's a few more thrown in for good measure.

* Fill out your profile with lost of info and meta information.
*If you're coming from twitter put your mastodon handle in your twitter profile.
*Follow as many as you can. 30-100 right away if possible
*The serach works for other instances as well
*Look in the federated timeline 🌎 for posts from outside this instance but followed by people here.
