TIL that you can self-boost a toot, which shoves it to the front of everyone's timeline (boo, rude).
... but I also learned that you can make a filter on one or more toots and select them individually to add to the filter (awesome, yay). So now I have a "squelched" filter to kill self-boosted toots.
I like how so far, every problem I have with this protocol already has a solution.
(... now to see how much work it would be to add "is self-boosted toot" as a criteria in the filter)
p.s. I'd say something like "Stop self-boosting your toots," but it's your service too and I ain't gonna tell you how to live your life. Just know when you're repetitive my squelch is judging you silently. ;)

@ErikUden Half of me wants nothing more to do with this exchange, and the other half is mildly curious what they thought it was if not a Nazi salute.
FWIW: anyone saying it was a "Roman salute" is calling it a Nazi salute by another name; they might not know it, but this is a bad time to be that ignorant. It was never a Roman salute. It was a fascist salute the Nazis adopted, and the fascists did it because they misinterpreted an image in a French painting of an ancient Roman story as historically accurate.

re: Politics, prediction of violence by those pardoned
@ai6yr on this topic: remember the guy who showed up with a gun at the pizza place demanding to see the basement where they did the child trafficking? The pizza place with no basement?
He's dead now. Shot by police who were stopping him for an outstanding warrant and he pulled a firearm on them.

@davidaugust Oh yeah, definitely because of the cold. And not, say, because of the challenges of securing all sight-lines in an open-air forum...
Someone start counting how many outdoors events this guy has vs. indoors in relation to previous administrations. 😉

@mattblaze Back when I was working on Google Cloud, I had this hanging on the wall next to my desk.
(Although ironically, one of the team's catchphrases was "NO HEROICS." Not because they aren't sometimes necessary, but because they're by definition unsustainable; if the system requires perpetual heroics to maintain, it's in need of rearchitecting so it works right whether or not Wonder Woman is holding it!).
