@MattHatton but if it’s the GG then why in Britain does the PM write them and not the King/Queen?

Ok I have thoroughly annoyed myself now because I can’t work out, if Australia *did* have nuclear missile submarines and there were Letters of Last Resort, who would write them? The PM or the Governor General?

@liamvhogan Based of precedence (the opening of the 2000 Sydney Olympics) I'm going with the Governor-General.

It is 2035. The first Australian ballistic missile submarine puts to sea. It carries a Letter of Last Resort from the Prime Minister with instructions, if there is confusion, to surface and tune into , to confirm that nuclear war has not happened and that there are still low low prices every day

@Kels_316 @MattHatton @NewtonMark pitch: drivers do not require infotainment and the ideal number of dashboard screens is 0

@liamvhogan @Kels_316 @NewtonMark No one requires "infotainment". It's a word that I wish didn't fucking exist.

That said, I can see use for a single (1) screen for GPS navigation because fuck trying to negotiate where you're going with someone that can't read a bloody street directory.

However, I do wish to see how you could a dial-based system for waypoint navigation. That could be fun/infuriating.

I’ve come to be comfortable with my position against using AIs or LLMs which is fundamentally based on snobbery. I simply believe, on what I think are good grounds, that I’m a better writer.

I get that there are environmental and structural and copyright arguments as well, but I think my aesthetic aversion is enough.

@liamvhogan but think of how many new positions you could have and look forward to the challenges of if you automated that with ChatGPT
