My colleagues: We study modes of tree and plant distribution that will help with climate change impacts, partner with Indigenous communities to tell important stories about plastic in the Arctic, and model how green space in urban settings helps air quality for everyone 🍃 ✨
Me: I study falling down buildings, abandoned infrastructure, arcane ritual structures, and the collective good that we are all about to lose 😭

In response to this post@0x00string in fairness (unsure if this post/conversation is interested in fairness), what FB is really good at, and what other technologies at least thus far are not, is hosting space to convene an ongoing daily conversation with a whole bunch of people you also know IRL. A letter doesn't get there. A text thread is closer but still too fragmentary. FB groups really *did* something for people, and it's the reason my ministry colleagues are totally, lamentably hooked.
