A trans person who has gone through the bureaucratic bullshit to get their name and gender marker changed will walk into any place they have to prove their name and citizenship and whatever else with 15 forms of ID *just in case*.

Since it's relevant with the California fires, it's important for everyone to maintain a "Bug Out Bag". Or at the very least, a current list of everything you need to grab for your bug out bag and where it's kept. No matter where you live, there's always a chance you're going to need to flee your home and travel long distances on foot with only what you have on your back with very little notice.
For example, I've got all of my IDs and critical paperwork, my backup yubikey, and a bit of emergency cash in a baggy in my safe. Once I grab my meds and that baggy, I've got enough to at least start to rebuild my life even if everything else is gone.

Is it inappropriate to follow someone you know on a different platform if you remember they had you blocked on a previous platform, or do you just assume that you should respect their previous block?

I'll never forget or forgive the differences, but I will begrudgingly allow anyone who believes free and fair elections to mediate our differences to stand on the same side of the barricade against those who want authoritarianism. That doesn't mean I'm going to compromise any of my beliefs, but I'll at least accept that I've got far more serious battles to fight than vs "never-Trumps" or whatever.

@0x00string Mostly sees the writing on the wall that if he doesn't allow racist uncles to spew whatever then Trump's DOJ will sue them. Hence starting the roll out in the US, when typically those sorts of changes happen in small and less profitable markets first. Fucking sucks to see all these cowards complying in advance, but sadly I do see why they do what they're doing

I just realized it's been so long since I bought a loaf of bread I have no real knowledge of how many slices there are in a loaf.
@JessTheUnstill reminds me of the old joke where someone orders a large pizza and the restaurant asks “would you like that cut into 8 or 10 slices?” The person replies “better make it 8, I don’t think I could eat 10.”
