Santa Ana Wind Event with PDS Update/ VC Situation Update (via our ham radio emergency group here) "The National Weather Service is forecasting Red Flag Conditions including an embedded Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) wind event for Ventura County that started earlier today and will last until Wednesday January 15. In response to this post 3/x Ventura County Fire Department Upstaffing The Ventura County Fire Department will be in a PLAN 2 BRUSH beginning Starting 1/13/25, 8 AM. This PLAN 2 BRUSH staffing pattern will be bolstered with additional firefighting resources. he Ventura County Operational Area EOC will be activated to a LEVEL 2 beginning Monday 1/13/25, 8 AM – Wednesday 1/15/25, 5 PM. Two Sheriff Sheriff’s Emergency Services personnel will be responding immediately to any new incidents to assist with evacuation and shelter coordination. #VenturaCounty #CAwx #wind #firewx

In response to this post 2/x Southern California Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) Southern California Edison is presently monitoring 54 circuits for potential PSPS starting Monday 1/13 at 9 AM - Wednesday 1/15 at 12 PM. North/northeast gusts of 50-80 mph may be observed, with isolated gusts of up to 100 mph possible.
