Christian Lawson-Perfect

I'm CLP, one of the admins of mathstodon.xyz.

I'm a mathematician of sorts, working in a university department, spending most of my time making the mathematical e-assessment system @numbas.

Outside work I'm always making little things online, which I collect on my homepage at somethingorotherwhatever.com/

I have a bot, @esoterica, which posts entries from my collection of interesting and unusual maths references once a day.

I'm one of the editors of @aperiodical, a maths news/magazine blog. You can follow @mathnews for breaking maths news.

I'm involved with @MathsJam and the @TMiP conference, which I'm hosting in this summer.

I'm disabled in a few ways: I'm , dyspraxic, I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome , and protanopia colour vision deficiency. I'm interested in , particularly digital accessibility things that come up at work.

I live in in the North-East of England.

I ride my bike a lot, really as a mobility aid.

Since is also legit for non-tech meddles, here are some of my hobby shots from long exposure solar cameras.
The first two are (back garden and , up to 6 months. The third is the can itself from that second shot. The last one is a from a wedding venue in West Newcastle over one day.
You place a can firmly, the sun draws an arc each day through the pinhole onto photo paper. You cut it open, scan, and recalibrate/colour it.
Magical ♥️
