OK this is my periodic reminder that the American people didn't choose fascism: 1 Trump got less than 50% of the votes of the registered voters who showed up on Nov 5. 2 We have been subjected to weapons-grade voter suppression tactics both from corrupt GOP and our enemies for years (Russian bomb threats ring a bell?) 3 Registered voters are fraction of all Americans 4 Many folks who voted for Trump didn't know what he was going to do.

So no, we did not choose fascism.

Some chose fascism, but most were just unhappy and decided change was needed. It was an extremely simplistic, emotional response, but this election taught me that’s how it works. The rallies were not well attended. There aren’t that many true believers. Problem is it doesn’t take many to do a lot of damage.

@stux Not Fascism, we have chosen ignorance for years. Civics and Geography haven't been taught for a long time, and it is very apparent we don't know how our country runs nor the Constitution governs. Our incoming head of Defense could not name one ASEA country, he guessed Japan under questioning. Many conservative Americans think you have to belong to a Nazi party to be fascist so they figure trump and his merry idiots are just fine.

@stux IMO it's even worse than that.
They chose fascists and fascists is what we all got.

Choice...there were at least 3 bomb threats (confirmed origin from Russia) called in at polling areas in my area on election day. I'm sure we weren't the only ones.
