how does youtube still not have "stop notifying me about replies on this comment" as an option in 2025? the only option is to turn off all notifications about replies on all comments everywhere.

There was a video about xenophobia in small, rural Japanese towns and I made a comment that, having grown up in a small, rural American town, that it isn’t just a Japanese problem.
A year later I’m still getting responses about how “it’s not a small town problem if you weren’t a big city liberal you’d know that.” The irony is not lost on me.
(I finally just deleted the comment.)

In response to this post@gsuberland Oh the enshitfication is real with YT. The iOS app (only thing in the house that YT can shove ads into at the moment l) will drop out of full screen when some ads play so you can see the links in the side.
It doesn’t go back to full screen after the ad. -_-
I watch on this device almost exclusively as I cook. Which famously leaves your hand free and clean to push an icon. -_-
