I've often thought if someone set up an actual -- non-scam -- solar installation and repair company, they'd make some serious bank.

I know of so many people that got ripped off ($40k for a 15kWh install), or are now stuck with a failing system that just needs a few part swaps, but there's no one willing to do it.

@johntimaeus @Viss They used to be good, but at some point it crossed from "early adopters and good companies" to "crap companies with used car salesman". I do not know when that happened. Solar is excellent, but I know of a local radio person here whose (newly installed) system is down because of equipment failure and it can't be fixed because of someone (not sure if installer or manufacturer) bankrupt.
