@GottaLaff @Lazarou I once watched a video of people waiting to see if they got into heaven. In it a number of people with virtually no sins were rejected. And then one came up who had sinned many times. But Jesus came out and took him personally to heaven, because at the end of their life, this person had "accepted Jesus as his savior".

I watched the whole thing and thought for sure it was a parody. But nope. That was actually a real religious video put out by a real Christian religion. I was dumbfounded.

A friend of a friend is a devout Calvinist, of all things. Their take is weird, but less hypocritical, I think: whatever you do in life is irrelevant, you go to heaven or not depending solely on God’s whim. It’s all preordained. What I don’t understand is why they’re not all lying, thieving, murdering rapists of children. According to them you can do all of that and still go to heaven. Maybe there’s nuance I’m missing, though.
