Yes, TikTok is limited as a foreign owned company in the amount it can use to "lobby," i.e. openly bribe, our legislators. They are working around that as best they can.

There should be consequences both for TikTok and for the US companies that invade our privacy, attack our democracy, and spread life threatening disinformation. But our legislators are much better paid to ignore the problems created by Meta and Twitter.
