@ai6yr A plant I both hate and love. No, the fire won't kill it-it will grow back faster than any of the plants competing with it. Like most grasses, it's best friend is fire. It's invasive to boot.

What's to love then? It's the cane that sax, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, bagpipe, etc. reeds are made of. A lot of my career was spent with a bit of Arundo in my face. I've always been able to grab a stalk or two and carve my own reeds.

Not worth the damage it causes.
