@cvvhrn @ai6yr the preliminary accident report I read on the Deepwater Horizon suggested that the fire was sparked by volatile hydrocarbon fumes reaching the onboard generator air intakes after they had the blowout.
Sure you might get lucky most of the time refueling a running generator and it's more likely a generator will keep running than it is to restart successfully after refueling but... death by gasoline fire is not fun.
@douglasvb @cvvhrn @ai6yr Good grief, you actually remember that detail about the Deepwater Horizon blowout? I was doing a weekly energy podcast back then. We reported on the accident and had experts on talking about it over the course of several episodes. I don't remember any of the details. o_0 (Feeling old...)
