Got this for nearly free from a ham junk fest, works awesome. Added an extra battery. Worked to power my radio and scanner bank for 2 days of no power with no recharge. (Basically it charges the batteries when power is on, and is just a 12v battery when off... 12V UPS. You can build one with a 13.8V power supply and a battery too, with a 10.8V cutoff so you don't destroy yiur battery through discharge. #hamradio #gadgets

**free, because it did not work when I got it, because the internal 7aH battery just needed to be replaced. ("it's broken, you can have it.") 🤔
@ai6yr Only 7ah and runs for two days. Wow!
Just shows you have to be careful thinking about the size of battery you need (essentially the amount of energy required for different jobs) e.g. my camper trailer has over 200 ah (the new one will have 270) and that might only run the 90lt fridge for three days (big estimate, highly dependent on weather - yet to test new one) without solar. Communication vs Refrigeration.
The trailer battery and fridge is a handy emergency backup if power goes out.

@ai6yr I’m tempted to try and repair my Jackery if they give me the run around on it. Based on their website, it might still be under warranty I just need to reach out to them.
But I would love to come across devices like this I could easily slap a new battery into. Hah. Slap. Like I’m that talented 🤣
@j I suspect it's an off the shelf battery part, assuming that's what went south. Warranty repair is better of course.
