We regret to inform you that Camp Josepho, our 84-year-old Scouting Camp located in the Santa Monica Mountains, has been destroyed in the Pacific Palisades Fire. While this loss is heartbreaking, our primary focus is supporting families and communities affected by the devastating wildfires across Los Angeles.
“Scouting families are among the thousands who have lost everything,” said Lee Harrison, Scout Executive & CEO of the Western Los Angeles County Council. “Our top priority is assisting them and others in need.”

In response to this postOff topic, Camp Josepho was where my son had his first Scout overnight outing, as a Webelos joining our local scout troop. 🙏
(Lesson there: DO NOT let the kids eat the partially frozen hamburger that they were unable to thaw out properly... there was a lot of vomiting.)

Our patrol leader was a short-order cook at the family's restaurant. (Don't tell OSHA about U18 kitchen work in 1970s!)
His bivouc tool-roll had his favorite chef knife.
His icebox cooler had sirloin tips looted from the restaurant walkin.
The adult leaders chose to dine with us for some reason.
(Oof. Sad to lose the camp.)
