@ai6yr I have learned more about short-term and mid-term plans for this repeater, and the power flaw is being addressed.
There are alternate repeaters with power backup thankfully, but it's definitely an odd situation with our main local. The main County repeater is battery+solar.
What has been good is how the local hams have been able to adapt to simplex nets. The weekly emcomm drill had as many checkins this week on simplex as we usually have with the repeater, with good relay performance.

@ai6yr Electrical things rely on electrical fields maintaining basic electrical properties. In an emergency that isn't always a safe bet...
