I made the mistake of clicking on one of the FOX livestreams (LiveNow). Immediately saw the "reporter"/camera looming over the mayor of Los Angeles: "This is all your fault, what do you say to the people who lost their homes because of you? What do you have to say to them?"

Yeah, concrete construction and roof tiles should be required for people who want to live right next to a giant pile of tinder in a dry climate 😬
It's also great for temperature insulation.
@me_valentijn @evilotto @argv_minus_one @ai6yr it's a bit challenging to understand the scale of what's happening but this photo from Wednesday night gives a good idea for Altadena. The fire went a couple miles into the town and burned out the downtown. Trying to remake all of that in concrete will be difficult and concrete is not great for CO2 emissions 😬

(Road is blocked by said cars, and looked to be imminently engulfed by the fire. People ditched them to avoid being barbecued.)

KTLA 5 has live coverage from just north of Santa Ynez Lake. Majorly backed up, a lot of people walking, probably after abandoning vehicles.
