Octogenarian bazillionaire Larry Ellison thinks it's a good idea that AI-based surveillance system will "police" citizens. He's so rich, the only thing other people could possibly want is something he has.

There is no commitment, no harm that Donald Trump will not break or inflict. This indecent, inhumane proposal, though, would have started in the Joseph Goebbels Mini-Me mind of Stephen Miller.

I would regulate insurers into the role of 20th c. utilities, which is how many are regarded in Europe. Their job would be to process payments, according to standardized contracts with customers.

They would be required to pay the full amount due on time, or face prompt and severe consequences, including the potential for personal liability for their executives. Profits would be assured, but capped at a small percentage of the business they process.

Insurance companies are not health care providers. They have no medical qualifications. They impose such severe restrictions on what medically qualified people they hire can do when reviewing patient files, it's unfair to rubber stamps to call them rubber stamps.

Insurers write and read contracts and make payments. At that, their parsimony is of Dickensian proportions. They should stop - or be made to stop - making health care decisions.
