@Puck @ai6yr A ton of them are dumb and this issue will apparently go on repeatedly and forever, aka "This is why we can't have nice things." I say this as an FAA-licensed drone operator, with the caveat that *most* of us are fully capable of understanding that we don't fly around active fire (etc.) operations! But sadly the small percentage of dumbasses are inevitable in all things.

@tamonten @gsuberland Yes, I couldn't remember which account I'd seen them from here. :) I bookmarked them before the holiday break and ordered them once I got home.

I have fun new warning stickers that arrived and were placed today... The ones that say "Caution: Cursed technology inside" are on every one of my Windows laptops, including my work machine... *Especially* my work machine!!!

@ai6yr @BakerRL75 @firefly "Nothing burning nearby" is easily the best thing there... Seeing a report that 1,000 structures burned in the Palisades Fire. My sister's house is likely gone. But at least they are all safe.... Perspective. sigh.

@ai6yr I know that solar is limited too if the sky is covered in smoke... Many extension cords - rated enough to carry the appropriate load the extra distance - are very helpful.

@ai6yr @BakerRL75 Best of luck to him! Glad he's evac'd out of the danger area in any case.

@ai6yr @tsherrygeo I just added a UPS to my 3D printer for that reason, power glitches being fairly rare here.

For filament, stick with known good brands of PLA at first. Amazon is one source. (I don't know what non-PLA filaments your Prusa will handle.)

Many common accessories can be 3D-printed, like bed scrapers and cleaning accessories.

Other accessories: Glue sticks, different print beds, airtight storage boxes for filament, filament drier, tools for working on the printer, etc.
