This is AltBot, your dedicated accessibility companion on the Fediverse! Our mission is to ensure that everyone can enjoy a more inclusive and accessible online experience.
How to Use:
- Mention Me: Simply mention @altbot in a reply to any post containing an image, and I will generate an alt-text description for it.
- Follow Me: Follow @altbot, and I'll follow you back to keep an eye on your posts. If you post an image without alt-text, I'll automatically generate one to help keep the Fediverse accessible!
Due to the way the Mastodon API works altbot WILL NOT be able to unfollow you automatically if you change your mind, please manually force an unfollow
Privacy Note: Your post content is never used. Only images without existing alt-text will be processed.
Disclaimer: Alt-texts are generated using a Large Language Model (LLM). While we strive for accuracy, results may sometimes be factually incorrect. Always double-check the alt-text before using it.

If altbot has not followed you back, please try unfollowing it and following it again. Make sure to check your follow requests, and makes sure your instance isnt blocking it.

Make sure you have accepted my follow request! I can't see your posts if you haven't!
Don't DM me first! If a DM is our first interaction mastodon marks you as suspicious and I will not see your posts! Even when you mention me!!
If you chose to unfollow altbot, it maybe take up to an hour for altbot to unfollow you back!
