@0x00string The hardest part of this is finding an active volcano that won't also kill you in the process. Otherwise, you just throwing someone into a hole.

@0x00string Years of flame-wars and just generally being a contrarian prick on the internet have removed any desire I had for getting into pointless arguments anymore. I just want to get along with everyone and be good at something.

@0x00string Exactly, I could've been a prick about it an demanded he make the changes, but I knew I could do it myself if I had to, and he was probably reticent to do it because we already got a fairly good deal on the house. The resources I got back from it though are worth far more to me than any amount of monetary compensation.

All it cost me was saying "no worries bro, don't stress over it."

@0x00string So related story, our family just bought a house, it's a new build so we're going through deficiencies in the house with the builder and the seller's realtor. There were a few things in the house I wanted done that the seller didn't want to undertake. I remained chill about it and said "no worries, I can tackle that problem myself later. Not a big deal." I didn't treat them with any special kindness, I just remained chill and looked at the realities of the situation.

On the day we move in, there is a massive welcome basket on the kitchen counter. It was from the seller. In the card he wrote how much of a pleasure it was to work with us on the home and that we were some of the kindest and most patient people he's ever worked with. He apologized for not being able to accommodate all of my requests, and offered to send me all of the blueprints, plans, wiring layouts, for the entire house and offered himself to help with any of the projects I wanted to tackle at a later date.
