I agree with everything Ariadne said, so this is more of an "add on" situation but:

We're talking about a country that already elected a washed up cowboy movie actor who'd been reduced to pitching products on TV and got his start in politics by ratting out all his socialist friends in Hollywood at his wife's urging, POTUS and then gleefully let him detonate what was left of the New Deal. For this we ignore that he was a cracker fascist and declare him the greatest US President.

@BetaCuck4Lyfe Oh man, that guy's look for that movie was UNREAL; like the combination of "just normal enough that you know this dude is only a man" but also "freaky and terrifying enough that you can tell he's an unstoppable force of murder" is incredible. I'm not a Coen bros stan necessarily, but they nailed Chigurh in terms of actor choice and character design.

Support for joining the US is at like 13% in recent Canadian polls; which is alarmingly high but isn't anywhere near a majority of Canadians want this. Their rich people do tho.

I am not kidding, and there will be no exceptions. I have a very limited amount of energy to work with these days and I'm never again going to spend that energy bandying wits with folks who don't even know the policies their own leaders support and enact. If you sincerely believe "fascism is only when the GOP does it" we're not on the same side, you're not an antifascist, and I'm very much tired of wasting my energy on you.
