In mid-October, I took my ridiculous 4mm fisheye lens out to the forest.

It's honestly not bad for photographing mushrooms – uniquely enabling you to get both the mushroom and the rest of the forest in frame at the same time. And it's always fun to experiment.

Marvin Johanning

It's been a while since I wrote my introduction and since I've gotten a lot of new followers in the past few days and weeks, I've decided to re-write my old to reflect what I mainly do with my account now.

My name is Marvin, I currently live in Bielefeld and I earn my money as a sysadmin at a small company in Halle (Westf.)

I have a lot of hobbies, but my main hobby is, and has for a couple of years, been and, more recently, birding.

I have begun mainly doing , and sometimes also , or just other random stuff. I generally post at least one per day on my account and sometimes other photographs I've taken that I think are worth sharing.

I am also a great fan of the and have started my own and instances (birdtu.be and birds.town respectively).

tl;dr You'll find mostly birds on my account, sometimes other wildlife, insects or other general photography and also random musings from time to time as well.

I haven't learned enough about moss to identify which species this is, but its fruiting bodies look like they're straight from the toxic forest in "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" (or, just maybe!, it's the other way around).
