I noticed that this account had the Art vs Artist meme pinned since 2022, so I decided to make and refresh the pin.

This year has been kind of weak for me, both in terms of art and in general, but I did end up moving on with my bf, which is very nice.

I thought I would have a problem picking drawings for this meme since I didn't draw much this year, but it was much easier to pick artworks this time around since I experimented with colors other than purple 🤦‍♀️

Picking a photo of myself was a real challenge this year, but I went with the one my bf took for me!

Metin Seven 🎨

From the mid-2000s to the mid-2010s, I was a daily and weekly news cartoonist for the Dutch NU.nl site and the Dutch NRC(.next) newspaper.

I chose 3D graphics as the medium, because it was novel for news cartoons, and it allowed me to build a library of reusable characters, props and decors.

Back then I worked with 3ds Max, and rendered with V-Ray.

Back in the 2000s I wanted to push precious 8-bit childhood game nostalgia to an extra dimension.

As there were no dedicated voxel editors yet, I made the works by extruding quad polygons in 3ds Max.
