Teague

Now that the ink is dry on my new Service Agreement I can now announce that I have been hired to curate the Maker Space exhibition. The contract covers work to be undertaken for Arts Access Victoria’s Future Reset – Maker Space Program from June 2024 to December 2024.

Maker Space is a series of online and in person visual and digital arts workshops designed to help 18-25 year old youths (at my age I'm calling them youths!) learn new skills and give them resources to create new works and new friends with the opportunity to showcase new works at the end of October (which is my job to curate!).

Arts Access Victoria (AAV), currently celebrating 50yrs, is the peak body for arts and disability in Victoria (in so-called Australia).

It is thrilling to work for a disability-led organisation that plays a vital role in state, national and international discourse, platforming the work of Deaf and Disabled artists, arts workers and creatives.

As many of you may know, my multimedia series, "The Reclamation of Terra" was largely created in the Arts Access studios - an AAV studio in Merri-Bek I've been practising my own craft at for 18+ months.

I am so grateful to CJ and the stellar team for asking me to come on this journey. As a proud queer, trans, disabled human I can't wait to champion young voices emerging in the art world.
