@treleanor @MarkDeasy I've been more than a little disappointed with Dr Leigh too. And he's never responded to any concerns I've raised with him with anything other than a "but look how good we are" vanilla response. I don't bother contacting him anymore and certainly don't vote for him (other than to preference him above the RWNJ candidates).

Likewise. He used to be my local member before Fenner was created. I tried to engage him on Labor's appalling treatment of asylum seekers and received anodyne responses from staffers in reply.
Now I just shakes me head while he champions charities instead of making them redundant via raising the support for social services.
You know the ALP is cooked when two of what the Libs would call 'moderates' (Payne and Leigh) are somewhere to the Right of Malcolm Fraser. Kind of highlights the myth of Canberra being a 'progressive' jurisdiction when we vote these people in when there are alternatives like the Greens and genuinely progressive Indies available.
@MarkDeasy yep, I'd written to him a number of times about the Australian women and children that have been abandoned in Syrian camps. The replies were pathetic.
