With this current Fedi exodus from Meta platforms and X, I'd like to ask: Could we PLEASE remove the file size limit for posting photos and other images to Mastodon and Pixelfed? They get compressed anyway, so why should the user also have to their own compressing before uploading?

In response to this post@mntyfrsh @dansup @pixelfed Removing such limits altogether exposes the service to denial of service attacks. The limits are pretty high at the moment though, I am a photographer and I have no issues uploading high resolution photos. What limit are you running into?
