@ana @RobotDiver I only stayed because it was necessary to connect with 90% of my friends and being mostly a hermit without that tool I’m very isolated. I’ve been well aware of the issues with the platform for years and have tried to make others see it.
I think it’s taken a long time for the mask to come off, as in, unofficially Meta has been permitting abuse of trans people and marginalized communities for years. The community standards were suggestions at best. But still some folks couldn’t hear us pointing it out, which does make me angry. Cause it should have mattered before.
But now that the guidelines officially permit abusive behaviour not just towards trans people, but to other queers and women as well, maybe folks will wake up a little.
