There's a helicopter working to the north somewhere. I can hear it and it's quite loud, but weirdly I don't see any lights. It may be circling really low just below the ridge or something.
Otherwise, save for the occasional coyote yip and the campfire, it's quite calm and peaceful out here.

In response to this postThe helicopter noise quit. Presumably they were circling over people, so either the people scattered and the helicopter gave up or agents on the ground took them into custody or something. All quiet now.
A vehicle just came down the dirt road on the Mexican side. That means they'll be bringing some people in. They could be what we referto as "travelers", people who are continuing to hike north or they may be asylum seekers who will turn themselves into the border patrol. Most likely the latter, so I'll walk over to the end of the wall and tell them to come down here to the camp about 200 yards away.
