I am constantly amazed at the stupidity of Americans. We've had needle exchanges in Canada for decades and they've reduced deaths and proven effective for years.

Having worked in harm reduction in Canada, plenty of Canadians are just as stupid and needle exchanges here still have to constantly fight NIMBYs to stay open. The Supreme Court decision in favour of InSite has at least established the scientific efficacy, but any time a right of center party is elected they do everything in their power to return to maximum casualty policy. They want drug users to die
