but at busy junctions / signalised roundabouts its not uncommon for the Police to turn up and direct traffic, they often even wear their white peaked caps and white gloves like in the old TV show "Heartbeat" (available on Britbox in USA)

In response to this post@ai6yr Fun one for you: that was me, blowing through 1 1/2 light. But not because I was trying to be an asshole (in the moment anyway) but because it was so dark I forgot there were even traffic lights there!
Honestly, there need to be a beefier battery setup for these lights that gets recharged during sunlight hours.
