@Sable_Shade Don't spend a half hour wandering around the yard, the homeowner might not think it's worth the $ they are paying you every week. Gotta look busy! Makes the homeowners feel good they can afford a landscaper.

In response to this post@ai6yr @Sable_Shade Wait a minute… I’m all for banning gas leaf blowers (they are but it isn’t enforced) but besides the noise, what’s wrong with electric ones? After having raked my yard for years, getting an electric leaf blower seems like magic. I can’t imagine how much work it would be for a gardener to rake multiple yards a day.

California has banned gas powered blowers and this makes a huge difference in noise. The battery/electric ones are much, much quieter and an improvement overall.

In response to this post@ai6yr I moved to CA 20 years ago, & that's how long I've been begging people to be rational & not blow away nests, cocoons, ladybugs, & butterflies--and also closing windows & doors against the filthy dust & litter blown into the air, & the maddening sound that raises my blood-pressure & makes me cry with frustration.
That, & the heedless daytime wasting of water evaporating in the sun, to grow 'lawns' razed just as quickly into flat brown ugly landscape
