Also note for anyone else following along: this is little different (less, in many cases) to what you give up at the border but saves you the trouble of spending money on the airfare and being refused entry, by making it less likely to be refused entry when you arrive.

US - fingerprints and facial recognition.

Most of EU (probably all - I just haven't travelled to all) - facial recognition.

AU - facial recognition - which is brilliant for entering and exiting very quickly.

Own a passport issued in the last decade? PSA - you've already provided facial recognition data which is shared worldwide when you enter or exit most ports.
